The emergency food distribution will be held the fourth Thursday of every month at the Anderson County Fairgrounds Quonset Hut, located in the North Lake Park.  This distribution of food is for Anderson County residents.  City of Garnett employees help with the food distribution held at 2:00 p.m.

Garnett area citizens are invited to participate in the Anderson County Recycling Program. A recycling trailer is staged in the Country Mart parking lot on the second Tuesday of each month, courtesy of the Anderson County Landfill/Recycling Center. Items to be dropped into the designated bins are:

• #1-#17 plastic bottles, preferably washed out;

• Glass bottles and glass containers, preferably washed;

• Carboard boxes, must be flattened;

• Cans, must be crushed.

​​  Please do not dispose of plastic bags or household trash into the recycling trailer.
